For anyone who has ever reached a now-or-never moment in life, Snap Sonnets will crystallize how poets seize that now-or-never crisis and drive it into fourteen lines with a turn—using a magic proportion of 8 to 6. Molly Peacock will examine a classic sonnet and a contemporary sonnet, then will provide individualized writing prompts—the Snap—for all who desire one. This is a “studio” concept workshop, The first half is a technique seminar. The second half is like a painting studio, where we will draft sonnets—not to be shared unless the participant wants to. The class is for any level, beginner to advanced. The motto? In the attempt is the success. March 15, 5pm, Hugo House, 1021 Columbia St, Seattle, WA 98104. Register here.
